Research has shown that spending quality time together as a family can improve parent-child relationships and promote belonging, support communication, and even increase self-esteem and social skills. Whether it’s time at the gym, swimming, biking, playing sports, or another fun activity, here are some benefits of being active as a family: 1. Not only does being active as a family help both kids and parents meet their daily recommended activity goals, but it’s also a great way to spend time together. ![]() Adults should get at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity a week and children ages 6-17 should aim for 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity daily.
